which markets would you skip?

Of course, I didn't attend all of them, so it's difficult to say... however at a guess in my opinion there are parts of the world a bit too overexposed. For example in the East Europe there are 5 markets; in the Far East (or for Far East contents) there are 8... But the main fact is that the big groups / organizations compete in each other without too much logic. For instance last year there were 2 markets with only few days between them in Budapest: NATPE Budapest and CONTENT Budapest. It makes no sense. Anyway IPXChange, always n.1 ;) Ciao!

Axel, great list of this past year’s format trends and such an helpful list of all the markets. Wow, there are too many to attend! Do you think some of the markets will go away next year?

Hi Rosemond, too many indeed! For the moment most of them have already reconfirmed (at least the ones of the the first half of the year). I think that a reduction of markets will happen in 2025. Ciao!

Thank you very much about this!

I think you only forgot "Meta pitch" organized by Newen studio in France.

And, what about Formagination? Is there any information about that festival? Because, it is maybe the greatest opportunity for young format creators.

All the best! 😀

Hi Djordje, actually Formagination is a part of Realscreen West and I've forgot it (now it is in my list ;). I didn't know "Meta pitch": I'll check it. Thank you very much for reporting these 2 events! Ciao, Axel

Dear Alex,

thank you very much for those very useful information!

Also, I have one more question (I don't know if there is a chance for response):

Do you know where independent young format creators (non - fiction formats) could apply with their projects? Because, many of those listed festivals don't have a pitch competition for unscripted or just don't have appropriate information on their website about those competitions....

All the best!

Djordje
