One shiny floor entertainment show which featured the two fiancees and their families and where the top prize was an all-expenses paid wedding was piloted but couldn't be made because of those restrictions.
Was this Dream Wedding by Endemol? When I was a little kid we had a show called "Dream Wedding" on RTL in Germany, hosted by John's sister Linda de Mol ;-)
